Instant water heaters are a type of fixture that heats up water and differ from storage heaters by how they are designed and the methods used to heat up water. Unlike storage heaters, the structural design of instant heaters is not supposed to have a storage in which water arriving from a centralized water supply system accumulates and is heated.
Instant water heaters are fitted out with a heating element whose power allows heating up a direct stream of water. These fixtures are hooked up to an ordinary power electrical network, but since they have a fairly high power output, hooking them up is accomplished directly through the distribution board, with mandatory hookup to a ground loop.
Generally speaking, instant water heaters are used to heat small volumes of water.
